at Senior Center
PLATTSBURGH — A number of classes will be held at the Senior Citizens Center, 5139 North Catherine St., Plattsburgh.
The classes, all running from 9 to 11 a.m., are:
Dec. 3: Pictures 1, helpful hints on working with your camera to take better pictures. Instructor: Dennis Scott.
Dec 5: Pictures 2, demonstration and discussion on saving pictures to the computer and easy picture enhancement. Instructor: Dennis Scott.
Dec 10: Viruses and other ugly things, discussion on means to prevent them. Instructor Ed Schiffler.
Dec 12: Files and Folders, discussion and demonstration on setting up a file system that will provide easy access to data files. Instructor Ed Schiffler.
Dec. 17: Saving Data, use of external storage devices, including burning of CDs. Instructor Ed Schiffler.
It is not necessary to pre-sign for these classes; just come to the center on the appropriate day. People should plan to arrive about 15 minutes early to sign in. The charge is $1 per person per class.

Computer Club plans meeting, classes Monday
PLATTSBURGH — The Senior Citizen Computer Club of Clinton County will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at the Senior Citizens Center, 5139 North Catherine St., Plattsburgh.
If you are in the market for a new computer, unless you buy a Mac, you will find that most of the computers available will have the Windows 8 operating system pre-installed. At this meeting, presenter Brandon Johnson, a technician and sales specialist at the Plattsburgh Staples Store, will demonstrate and answer questions on the Windows 8 operating systems. The meeting is open to all.
Also, the Beginners Computer Class will resume in January 2013. To attend these classes, you must pre-enroll by calling the Senior Center at 563-6180. Classes will be held at the Senior Center from 9 to 11 a.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. It is recommended that those who sign up plan to attend all the classes.
