SARANAC LAKE — Snowshoe races, torchlight skiing and fireworks are coming up on the Saranac Lake Winter Carnvial schedule.

TODAY

6 p.m.: Curtis Lumber Snowshoe Races, all ages, Dewey Mountain. Call 891-2697.

10 p.m.: Music by Sophistafunk, The Waterhole.

THURSDAY

6 p.m.: Torchlight Skiing, followed by fireworks, Mount Pisgah Ski Center.

7:30 p.m.: 25th-annual Meineker Figure Skating Show, Saranac Lake Civic Center. 891-4431.

10 p.m.: Music by Kung Fu, the Waterhole.

FRIDAY

10 a.m.: Adirondack Bank Innertube Races, Mount Pisgah.

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: 23rd-annual Winter Book Sale, Saranac Lake Free Library, Cantwell Community Room, 109 Main St.

12:30 p.m.: NBT Bank Children's Skating Races, Saranac Lake Civic Center.

5 to 8 p.m.: Big Boss Sausage, Acoustic, Captain Cook's.

7:30 p.m.: Rotary Club Variety Show, Harrietstown Town Hall. $20 at the door.
