BUFFALO — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo's proposal to reform the state pension system is gaining support.
Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, a fellow Democrat, and the Committee to Save New York citizens group will offer their endorsement in Buffalo Thursday.
In his 2012 budget address last month, Cuomo outlined a pension plan that he said would save the state $123 billion over the next 30 years. The plan would establish a new benefits plan for future employees while preserving pensions for current workers.
