Constitutional change group hits the road

ALBANY — A bipartisan group seeking to provide New Yorkers with the tools they need to change the state constitution and how Albany operates is hitting the road.

The Citizens Committee for an Effective Constitution was featured in a report on YNN-TV's "Capitol Tonight" as the leaders plan a tour that will include civic groups, colleges, newspaper editorial boards.

The key tool of the committee is its free interactive website. It includes ways for New Yorkers to examine and understand the state constitution and how it can limit the powers of politicians and political party leaders.

The effort funded by a good-government foundation called the New Roosevelts plans a muli-year effort.
