Paul Smith’s offering wildlife lecture series
PAUL SMITHS — A wildlife science expert will give a talk Friday that kicks off a series at Paul Smith’s College.
Chadwick Rittenhouse from the University of Missouri uses theory and techniques from landscape ecology and wildlife ecology to understand the causes and consequences of environmental change on wildlife.
His talk launches the spring 2013 Fisheries and Wildlife Seminar Series at Paul Smith’s College. The other lectures are:
Friday, March 29: Terese Hart and John Hart, “Discovery and Protection of Okapi, Bonobo and a New Species of Monkey in a Central Congolese Forest.”
Friday, April 5: Nicholas Gotelli, “Specimen-based modeling, stopping rules and the extinction of the ivory-billed woodpecker.”
Friday, April 19: Kenneth Nussear, “Conservation of the Threatened Desert Tortoise: a Multidisciplinary Approach.”
The seminars, which are free and open to the public, take place from 10:10 to 11 a.m. in Freer Auditorium.
NCCS budget workshop planned
CHAMPLAIN — The Northeastern Clinton Central School Board will hold a budget meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Rouses Point Elementary School.
Budget review meetings will be held on Monday, March 4, and Wednesday, March 6, at the NCCS High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. to discuss information gathered.
All board meetings are open to the public.
Keeseville Village Board working on budget
KEESEVILLE — Keeseville Village Board will hold a special budget meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The 8:30 a.m. meeting will be held at the Village Board Room, 58 Liberty St., Keeseville.
The public is being encouraged to attend.
