Laura Margaret Wojewodzic

PORT HENRY — Laura M. Wojewodzic, 86, of Port Henry, passed away March 13, 2013. Born Nov. 10, 1926 in Cheboygan, Michigan to Leo and Margaret Fleury.

Laura married Martin Wojewodzic and together they owned and operated Bulwagga Bay Restaurant and Bar in Port Henry. Early in her adult life she volunteered much of her time caring for the elderly nuns in the local catholic convent. Laura enjoyed fishing in Canada, camping, vacationing in Maine, shopping for her grandchildren, and sharing stories with her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Rosemary and her husband Bernard Sargent, Peter Wojewodzic and his wife Pam, Richard Wojewodzic, Cheryl and her husband Michael LaDuc; one brother, Leo Fleury; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Sargent) Fleury, Ronald Sargent, Stacey (Sargent) Maggy, Melissa Wojewodzic, Justin Wojewodzic, Marty Wojewodzic and Jason Wojewodzic; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Martin; siblings Wilbert (Woody) Fleury and Georgianna (Fleury) Barnes; and one grandchild.

Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2013 at St. Patricks Church, Port Henry, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Country SPCA in Westport, N.Y.
