Pull quote credit incorrect

PLATTSBURGH — The pull quote in the AuSable Valley story of Friday’s paper was incorrectly credited to Logan Snow.

The quote was actually from Patriots coach Roger Long. The Press-Republican apologizes for this error.

Beartown Ski Area open today

Jay/Black Brook to hold sign-ups

AUSABLE FORKS — The Jay/Black Brook Youth Commission will be holding sign-ups for the upcoming baseball/softball/t-ball season. Sign-up sessions will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20; 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 23; 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10; and 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.

All sign-up sessions will be held at the Town of Jay Community Center in AuSable Forks. All players must present a birth certificate for age verification in order to play. For more information, or if you are unable to attend one of the sessions, contact Gary Whisher, at 647-8224 or 572-4983.

Spring fun runs to begin on April 8

PLATTSBURGH — Spring fun runs for families with youth will be held on the Terry Gordon Memorial Bike Path behind the City of Plattsburgh Gym Complex.

The events will take place Mondays on April 8, April 15, April 22, April 29 and May 6. Registration is at 5 p.m. and the fun runs start at 5:15 p.m.

Run distances will be one-quarter mile (ages six and under); one-half mile (ages seven to 10); and one mile (ages 11 to 14). There will be pre-run stretching, group warm-up runs and running tips. The fun runs are presented by the Clinton County Youth Bureau and for more information, call 565-4750.

Adirondack Power Challenge May 18

LAKE PLACID — The Adirondack Challenge, sanctioned by the World Natural Powerlifting Federation, will be held Saturday, May 18 at the Fitness Revolution in Lake Placid. Deadline to enter is April 27.

The events will include powerlifting, squat only, bench only, deadlift only, ironman and power curl. Divisions include youth, teens, juniors, sub-master, master, Special Olympian and police/fire/military.
