ELIZABETHTOWN — Genevieve Moore Segard Bushey, 85, of Keene Valley, passed away Monday Feb. 6, 2012, at the Horace Nye Nursing Home in Elizabethtown. She was born in Queens on May 22, 1926, daughter of the late Charles A. and Genevieve (Jendrick) Moore.
Ginny graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in May of 1946. She married Christian Peter Segard II in Keene Valley on Aug. 11, 1946. Ginny and Chris operated Tamarack Inn from 1946 to 1955. She worked as a children's service case manager for Essex County Department of Social Services from 1962 to 1973. Ginny was briefly married to Marvin Bushey from 1976 to 1987.
Ginny is survived by her children, Kathleen Hart of South Burlington, Vt., Christian P. Segard III of Lake Clear, Mark Richard Segard of Keene Valley, Eleanor McMahon of Anchorage, Alaska, Christina Bessen of Middle Granville, Charles Moore Segard of Keene; her grandchildren, Christian Segard IV, Peter Joseph Segard, Charles Steven Segard, Ashley Segard, Julia McMahon, Liam McMahon, Beau Bessen, Bryan Bessen; and one great-grandson, William Blanchard.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Keene. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Norton Cemetery in Keene.
Donations in Ginny's memory may be made to the Golden Peaks Senior Center in Keene.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh.
