ELIZABETHTOWN — Virginia A. McDougal, 87, of Lincoln Pond Rd, died Sunday, March 3, at her home. She was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y. Sept. 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Ellis and Leona (Clark) McCoy.
She worked for several years as a nurses aide at Stone Leigh Nursing Home and as a personal aide to the late Betty Cross. She moved to Fla. with her second husband for several years before moving back to Elizabethtown to be closer to her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband Gilbert Denton, her second husband Clayton McDougal and her step son Clayton McDougal Jr.
She is survived by two sons Kenneth and Roderick Denton, two daughter-in-laws Geraldine and Wendy Denton, six grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy and Mike Stanford, Kevin and Colleen Denton, Keith and Remy Denton, Roderick Jr and Tina Denton, Roger and Karen Denton, Richard and Kami Denton, fifteen great-grandchildren, six great-great- grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, step grandchildren and her special little companion her cat Miss Kitty.
Calling hours will be at 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 6th at W.M.Marvins Sons funeral home in Elizabethtown. A funeral will follow at 4 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lewis cemetery in the spring.
