PLATTSBURGH — Fernand "Fern" Y. Arseneault, 66, of Sunrise Drive, Plattsburgh and Montreal, Canada, died on Friday Nov. 23, 2012, at CVPH Medical Center.
He was born in Verdun, Quebec on June 29, 1946, the son of Raymond and Alice (Renaud) Arsenault.
Fern first came to Plattsburgh in the late 1980's to play golf. He soon made many friends in the Plattsburgh area and met his companion, Donna Turner. Fern would travel back and forth between Plattsburgh and Montreal for work as well as Missouri in the winter. He enjoyed golf trips with his friends, hosting parties, having pig roasts and fish fries. Fern was also eager to stop and have a drink or two with friends. He volunteered for Hospice of the North Country in assisting with the annual Carol Wallet Memorial Golf Tournament and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Fern was also an avid Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Cardinals Fan.
He was predeceased by his father. Fern is survived by his companion of 20 years, Donna Turner of Plattsburgh; his mother Alice Arsenault; three siblings, Lise Martinet and her husband Marcel, Normand Arsenault and his wife Gloria and Louis Arsenault and his wife Lise, all of Montreal; two nephews; Sylvaen, Patrick; a niece, Gulie; and his pets, Mini, Max and B.K.
