Marjorie "Marge" Marie Anderson

PORT HENRY — Marjorie "Marge" Marie Phinney Anderson, 83, of Port Henry, N.Y. died of natural causes in Horace Nye Nursing Home, Friday, March 15, 2013.

Marjorie was born in Port Henry on Feb. 15, 1930.

She is preceeded in death by her parents, George and Evelyn Phinney; her brother George; and her sisters, Dorothy, Betty, and Anne; as well as her husband, Andrew Anderson; son Maurice Andrew "Little Andy" Anderson; and dear friend Bob Washburn.

Marjorie was married to Andrew Anderson on July 4, 1948 in Port Henry. They were together 52 years. Although they grew up and retired in Port Henry, they lived in Massachusetts for many years.

Marjorie graduated from Port Henry High School in 1948. She was a life time member of the Eastern Stars and an accomplished seamstress.

Marjorie is survived by her five children, Cathi O'Connor and the late Joe of Billerica, Mass., Amy Collupy and Ray of Port Henry, Cindy DelCamp and Tom of Manchester, N.H., David Anderson and Kathy of Andover, Mass. and Cheryl Nee and Chris of Wilmington, Mass.; her ten grandchildren Shawn, Brian, Amybeth, Christine, Laura, Maurice, Thomas John (TJ), Haley, Caitlin and William; seven great-grandchildren (eight on the way); her nieces and nephews; and the rest of her family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at noon on March 18 at the Methodist church in Moriah. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on March 17, at Harland Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.

The family of Marjorie Anderson wishes to thank the Horace Nye Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion as well as the Moriah Methodist Church.
