MOOERS — Shirley V. Manor, 83, formerly of Route 22, Mooers, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Plattsburgh, Dec. 21, 1929, the daughter of Ernest and Ida (Monette) Neverett. She grew up in Sciota and graduated from Mooers Central School. She later earned her registered nursing degree from Champlain Valley Hospital, and worked there following graduation. Shirley was also a nurse at Ayerst Laboratory in Rouses Point. She married Ernest Manor, Nov. 21, 1951 in Sciota.
She enjoyed playing bingo, crossword puzzles, and reading. Shirley was a devoted and loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her two children and their spouses, Jody and Pamela (Baker) Manor of Mooers, and Lynne and Steven Davenport of Mooers; nine grandchildren, Aaron Manor, Heather Manor and fianc^ Chris Cayea, Garrett Watson, Zachary Watson, Trampas Manor and wife Nichole, Jamie Manor, Trent Manor and his wife Tammy, Zoey (Manor) Medeiros, and Stormy Manor; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Rita Dwyer of Plattsburgh; sisters-in-law, Shirley O'Hara of Mooers, and Bernadette Duffy of Rouses Point; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents; step-mother, Lottie Neverett; her husband, Ernest Manor; son, Stephen Manor; and daughter, Kimberly Manor Watson; and four brothers, Arthur, Arnold, Harold, and Perry.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at St. Joseph's Church in Mooers with Rev. Gerald A. Cerank, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Mooers.
