Katherine A. "Annie" Clark Skiff

BRASHER FALLS — Katherine A. "Annie" Clark Skiff, of Brasher Falls, N.Y., formerly of Nicholville, N.Y., died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y., surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Massena, N.Y. on Sept. 9th, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ruth Clark.

On July 28, 1949 the Rev. Morey united her in marriage to the Late Neilson Skiff. They were married for 52 years.

Katherine was a homemaker who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

She was a member and past treasurer of the Nicholville United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Katherine was an active fundraiser for the Nicholville Fire Department and the Nicholville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Skiff is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Danford and "Emily" Skiff of Canton, N.Y.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jacqueline Skiff and Jonathan Schneiderman of Plattsburgh, N.Y. and Candice "Candess" Skiff of Colo. She is survived by three brothers and sister-in-laws, Harold and "Jean" Clark Jr. of Norfolk, N.Y.; Andrew and "Millie" Clark of Plymouth, Maine, Danford and "Sue" Clark of Sun City, Calif. She is also survived by two sisters, Sarah Stone of Potsdam, N.Y. and Lydia Hosmer of Lewiston, Idaho. Two grandchildren, Matthew J. Skiff of Reading, Pa. and Katherine A. Skiff of Winthrop, N.Y.; also survive along with many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceived by three sisters, Marion Blair, Barbara Bergolis and Dorothy Moomy. She was also pre- deceived by one brother, William Clark.

Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family.

    HERKIMER — Russell A. LaFontaine, 91, of Herkimer and formerly of Champlain, N.Y., passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 15, 2013, in the Folts Home, Inc., Herkimer, with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Champlain, the son of the late Emmett and Elsie (Allard) LaFontaine and was educated in Champlain schools. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II. He married the former Leona Dupee. Mrs. LaFontaine passed away in 1989.
