PLATTSBURGH — Shirley M. Tripp Conners, 76, of the Military Turnpike, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born in Schuyler Falls, Feb. 13, 1937, the daughter of John and Ethel (LaRock) Tripp.
Shirley enjoyed bowling, traveling, and tending to her flower gardens.
Survivors include her son, Lawrence MacArthur and wife Susan (Sherman); daughter, Kelle (Conners) Santa and husband Glenn; her companion, Michael J. VanValkenburg; grandchildren, Kaitlyn MacArthur, Bailey MacArthur, and Madison MacArthur; siblings, Carol (Tripp) Sorrell and husband Donald, John Tripp and wife Carol, and Margaret (Tripp) Wood and husband Kenneth; brother-in-law, Raymond Tripp of Morrisonville; brother-in-law, Leon Badger of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Patrick Ellis Conners (1996); and siblings, Anna Mae Tripp, Baby girl Tripp, Herbert Tripp and wife Irene, Marion (Tripp) Badger; and sister-in-law, Ann Tripp.
Calling hours will be private and at the convenience of the family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh with Rev. William G. Reamer, parish pastor, celebrating. Entombment will follow in the Whispering Maples Memorial Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh.
