Esther A. Trumbull

UPPER JAY — Esther A. Trumbull, 90, passed away, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.

Esther was born on Jan. 29, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Jennifer (Joy) Ryan.

Esther enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren gardening, watching birds, playing bridge and Yahtzee, camping, fishing and cooking.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Trumbull of 69 years who she married on Sept. 11, 1943 in Au Sable Forks. Seven children, Kathleen (Kathy) Feitshans of Lake Placid, N.Y., William (Bill) and Michele Trumbull of Upper Jay, N.Y., Constance (Connie) and William Voss of Minn., Bernard (Bernie) and Doreen Trumbull of Au Sable Forks, N.Y., Robert (Bob) Trumbull of Jay, N.Y., Cynthia (Cindy) and John Liberty of Clintonville, N.Y. and Brian Trumbull of Elizabethtown, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way. Esther is predeceased by her parents; six sisters and six brothers; and a daughter in-law, Margaret (Gero) Trumbull.

At Esther's request there will be no calling hours, a memorial service will be held in May with a time and date to be announced. The Thwaits-Zaumetzer Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
