Jerome (Jerry) F. Brassard

— MINEVILLE - Jerome (Jerry) F. Brassard, 64, of Mineville, N.Y., went to his eternal resting place on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, after succumbing to a lengthy illness, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born on May 16, 1948 in Mooers Forks, N.Y., to Arthur and Irene (Nephew) Brassard.

Jerome married Judith White on May 23, 1970 in Westport, N.Y. They have been married for 42 years.

Jerome was a graduate of Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School. He served in the United States Army. In Sept. 1969, he began working as a paper handler for International Paper Company in Ticonderoga, N.Y. In Dec. 1993, he was promoted to Process Manager of the Finishing Room. Upon retirement from I.P., Jerome had worked at the mill for over 30 years as a dedicated employee.

Jerome was a loyal member of All Saints Church. In his free time, he enjoyed being on the lake with his sons, attending car and horse races with his kids, spending time with friends at Larrow's Garage, watching Vikings play sports, and making memories with family and friends.

Jerome is survived by his loving and caring soul mate, Judith (White) Brassard; his five devoted and supportive sons, Arthur (Shannon), Andrew (Danielle), Anthony (Vicky), Aaron (Arielle), and Alan with companion Brandie; his grandchildren, Michael (Whitney), Jonathan, Janelle, Taylor, Maria, Nora, and Sawyer; his step-grandchildren, Kayla, Mark, and Marissa St. Pierre, and Tyler Florio; his step-great grandson, Karter Swan; his parents, Arthur and Irene Brassard; his siblings, Gene, Gilbert (Rosanna), Ann (Jerry) Mitchell, Susan (Rick) Driskell, Bruce (Sueann), Dale (Mary), and Carol Schaefer; his brother-in-laws, Raymond, Edward, Steven (Becki), Thomas (Debbie) White; his sister-in-laws, Anna Bezon, Joan Strong, Barbara Brassard, and Mary Brassard; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends; and his beloved dog Pebbles.

Jerome is predeceased by his nephew, John Brassard; his brother-in-laws, Odean Schaefer, Martin Bezon, and William Strong; and his cherished dog, Woofy.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry, N.Y. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at All Saints Church in Mineville, N.Y. Burial will be in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerome's memory may be made to the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad or the Elizabethtown Community Hospital.
