John L. Phaneuf

PLATTSBURGH — John L. Phaneuf, 70, of Point Au Roche Road, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, from injuries sustained from a vehicle accident. He was born on Sept. 4, 1942, in Plattsburgh, the son of John and Leona (Fredette) Phaneuf. John married the former June Matott. He worked for many years as a mechanic for Giroux Brothers in Plattsburgh.

Survivors include his wife, June Phaneuf of Plattsburgh; a son, John C. Phaneuf of Rochester; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jodie and Scott Cresswell of Rochester, Julie Barber of Rochester; and two grandchildren, Amanda Barber and Lee J. Burgess, with two more grandchildren on the way. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews also survive John. His parents and a sister, Linda Rohen, predeceased him.

Calling hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department or the CVPH Heart Unit. Online condolences may be made to www.rwwalkerfh.com.

Arrangements are in care of the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
