Ethel B. Lindemann

PLATTSBURGH — Mrs. Ethel B. Lindemann, 87, formerly of Facteau Ave. in Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Hibernia, N.J., on June 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Wallace and Carrie Lumsden. Ethel and her husband Karl were married on June 15, 1946 on her 21st birthday in Hibernia, N.J. After Karl's retirement, they moved to Plattsburgh where they enjoyed over 25 years at their home on Facteau Avenue. She was a member of the New Apostolic Church, Tom Miller Road in Plattsburgh. Ethel was very spirited and enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends. Her greatest passion was her family and she played an important role in their lives. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Ward and son-in-law, Henry Ward of Plattsburgh; her grandchildren and their spouses, Dorothy and Raymond Drexel of Long Island, Henry and Diane Ward of Erie, Pa., Susan and Frank Butler of Plattsburgh, and Karen and Ron Clamser of Dannemora. She also had 7 great-grandchildren, Raymond Drexel, Benjamin Drexel, Carrie Ann Drexel, Mark Butler, Matthew Butler, Sarah Clamser and Caleb Clamser, and several nieces and nephews.

Her loving husband of 61 years, Karl Lindemann passed away in 2008. She was also predeceased by her two brothers and two sisters.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Raymond Drexel officiating. A reception will follow at the home of Henry and Cheryl Ward, 39 Kansas Ave., Plattsburgh. Interment will be in Riverside cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be offered to a charity of ones choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Clinton County Nursing Home for the professional, kind and thoughtful care that Ethel received.
