Ethelyn M. Lamb

CHURUBUSCO — Ethelyn M. Lamb, 81, of Churubusco, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Alice Hyde Nursing Home in Malone, with her loving family by her side, She had been a resident there since June 15, 2012.

Born in Ellenburg Depot on Aug. 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Grace Smith Colgan. She graduated from local schools.

After graduation, she was employed by the Warner Broth ers Factory in Malone for three years, While working in Mal one, she met, fell in love, and on June 5, 1954, married a Canadian farmer Ross Merton Lamb in Ellenburg Depot. During their first year together they farmed in Canada. Then they moved just over the border to Churubusco and brought an abandoned farm back to life..

Along with the daily work of helping Ross on the family farm, Ethelyn enjoyed cooking, bowling, listening to country music and going on Sunday drives with her family. She devot ed her life to her family. Her kind spirit affected all who met her,

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Mary Lamb of Churubusco; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy Lamb-Flynn of Apopka, Fla., and Karen and William Telovsky of Albany; one sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Eric Lamb of Ellenburg Corners; four grandchildren, Sarah and Wilson Knechtel, Katherine Lamb and Jared Telovsky; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was prede ceased by three brothers, Robert, Thomas and Lester Colgan.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Dunn's Cemetery in Franklin Centre, Quebec in the spring.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Churubusco Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service, Inc. of Malone.
