CHAMPLAIN — Constance R. "Connie" Wells, 60, formerly of Finley Drive, Champlain, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at Mead owbrook Healthcare, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Plattsburgh, April 21, 1952, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Robarge) Filion.
Constance grew up in Champlain, and graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School in Champlain. She worked for Delagar in Rouses Point for many years.
She was a member of Champlain Fire Dept. Ladies Auxil iary, St. Mary's Church Choir, a former religion teacher for St. Mary's Church, and when her children were young, she was a Girl Scout leader.
Connie enjoyed reading, cooking, and bowling, but her true love and pas sion was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Wells and her companion Jeff Garrow of Champlain; son and daughter-in-law, James and Jessica Wells of Altona; her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Filion of Champlain; her siblings, Patricia Gladd and her husband Gene of Champlain, Vickie Douglas and her husband Steve of Rouses Point, Larry Filion and wife Susan of Goldsboro, N.C., Mary Shutz and her husband Tom of Mer rill, Margaret Bordeleau and her hus band Yves of Canton Stanford, Quebec, Timothy Filion and his wife Brenda of Al tona; three grandsons, James Wells Jr., Jordan Wells, and Dylan Garrow; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Edward Wells, Jan. 9, 1997.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 13, at St. Mary's Church in Champlain, with Rev. James A. Delbel, parish Pastor, celebrating. Burial will be in the spring in the Glenwood Cemetery in Champlain.
