Carol C. Castine

CHAMPLAIN — Carol C. Castine, 88, of the Ridge Road, Champlain, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 at Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, N.Y. She was born in Champlain, N.Y., a daughter of the late Henri and Rosina (Bouchard) Trudeau.

Carol attended school in Kings Bay, School House #4, prior to attending Rouses Point High School. She married Carl Castine of Champlain at St. Josephs Church in Coopersville, Nov. 11, 1942. Together, they raised their family on their farm in Champlain, where Carol helped her husband run the family farm. She was of Roman Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Marys Church in Champlain.

Her loving family includes her four sons, Clarence Sam Castine (Carol), Calvin Castine (Judy), Gary Castine (Brigitte) all of Champlain and Guy Castine (Kevin Sykes) of Averill Park, N.Y.; her 13 grandchildren, Lisa (Joe) Spenziero, Elizabeth (Tom) Eyer, Laurie Guay, Justin (Karen) Castine, Nathaniel (Tammy) Castine, Danielle Castine, Caleb Castine, Katie (Gus) Terry, Craig (Lisa) Castine, Michael (Jennifer) Castine, Andrew (Erin) Castine, Christopher Castine and Manuel Iradian; her sister-in-law, Marguerite Castine of Beekmantown; and 13 great-grandchildren, Cassondra and Andrew Spenziero, Thomas Skinner, Kelly Castine, Abram Eichler, Shai Juneau, Colton Castine, Krista, Lauren, and Miranda White, Madeleine Castine, Grace Terry and Charlotte Castine.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Carl, Carol was predeceased by her 18 siblings, George Trudeau, Amie Trudeau, Joseph Trudeau, Yvonne Lyman, Henri Trudeau, Bertha Phaneuf, Raoul Trudeau, Onesime Trudeau, Bella Nitzpon, Romeo Trudeau, Aurel Cub Trudeau, Leonel Lion Trudeau, Rose McGee, Rita Bechard, Anna Trombly, Marcel Trudeau, Maurice Trudeau and her twin sister, Noella Trombley.

At Carols request there will be no Calling Hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Marys Church, 86 Church St., Champlain, N.Y. with Rev. James Delbel, pastor, celebrating the mass. Interment will be at a later date in the parish cemetery on Prospect Street.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carols memory may be made to the Champlain Rescue Squad. Arrangements are in the care of M.B. Clark Funeral Home, 196 Elm Street, Champlain, NY, 12919.
