PLATTSBURGH — Catherine D. Stone, 86, of Flaglar Dr. died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at CVPH Medical Center. Mrs. Stone was born in Plattsburgh on June 17, 1926, the daughter of William and Gladys (Defore) Dwane.
She married Carl Stone in 1947 and they shared 62 happy years together. Carl died in 2009.
Mrs. Stone graduated from St. John's Academy and then Plattsburgh Business Institute. During World War II Catherine worked for the Federal Government and later for Field Oil Co.
She enjoyed decorating, sewing, cooking, her flower garden and especially bridge games with "the girls".
Survivors include her sister, Patricia Bock and her family of Calabash, N.C.; three special nieces, Judith Wright of Andover, Mass., Jean Field of Johnston, RI, and Susan Treash of Bradenton, Fla.
There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church followed by a gathering in the Emmaus Room.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
