PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Francis J. "Jr. Booner" LaVarnway, 52, of Cornelia Street, passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his home. He was born in Plattsburgh on April 19, 1960, the son of Francis J. and Catherine (LaPorte) LaVarnway Sr.
Jr. enjoyed playing backgammon, pool, music and his computer.
He is survived by his parents, Francis J. and Catherine LaVarnway Sr. of Plattsburgh; his sisters; twin sister Francine of Peru, Lisa Gadway of Plattsburgh, Peggy Mooney and her husband Wayne of Morrisonville, Sue Maloney and her husband Tim of Schuyler Falls, Elaine LaVarnway and her companion Tim of Plattsburgh; two brothers, Daniel LaVarnway and his wife Haidy of Sanford, Fla., Ronald LaVarnway and his wife Mary of Plattsburgh; a very close nephew and best friend, Wayne Latour Jr.; a very close niece, Jessica Gamble and her fiance John Hugues Jr., and their two children; a niece, Monica Gonzalez and her husband Jason, and their three children; a nephew, Frankie Pelkey; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. His good friends, Wayne Latour Sr., Bill Dubuque, and Jeremy also survive him.
Calling hours will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. William G. Reamer, Pastor of Our Lady of Victory Church presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like everyone to visit someone who is lonely, spread the love, and think of him.
He is now an angel, dancing among the clouds with all of our loved ones who predeceased him. God bless him always. We love you and miss you terribly.
