CROWN POINT — Walter L. Stuart was born 1942, in Elmont, N.Y.
He fell in love with the Adirondacks in his early twenties and decided to live here where he started his own painting company. He's well know for painting buildings in Glen Burnie, Silver Bay and Ticonderoga. He lived a good life, worked hard and took great pride in the many places he had painted. When he wasn't painting, he was relaxing "with the boys" and having a cold one. He was a stubborn Long Islander who was kind hearted and hated seeing anyone struggle and in return he always was there to help anyone in any way he could.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Slattery Stuart; daughter, Lauralea Stuart Colombo, Gary Colombo; granddaughters, Jade Stuart and Stephanie Colombo; great-granddaughter, Amber; brother, Lee Stuart; niece, Jessica Stuart; nephews, Russel and Michael Stuart; granddaughter, Krystal Stuart, Steven Nader; great-granddaughter, Kya; great- grandsons, Giovanni Labatore and Syler Naeder; partner in crime, Shelly Plunkett; along with many friends and "good ol boys".
A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Harland Funeral Home in Port Henry.
