Marcella Barcomb

ELLENBURG DEPOT — Mrs. Marcella M. Barcomb, 86, of Military Turnpike in Ellenburg Depot, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at her home with her family by her side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country.

She was born in Churubusco on Oct. 11, 1926, the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Martin) Perry.

Marcella was a member of Holy Angels Church and enjoyed baking bread, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ernest Barcomb Jr. and companion of Altona, Diana Shaw of Altona, Susan and Robert Shaw of Altona, Betty and Francis Smith of Chazy, Laurie Ann and Roger Garlock of Ellenburg, Tammy Barcomb and companion George Burleigh of Mooers, Dale K. and Sherry Barcomb of Altona; her siblings and their spouses, Beatrice LaFave of Altona, Shirley Guerin of Ellenburg, Betty Jarvis of Forest, Raymond and Stella Perry of Altona; three sisters-in-law, Cecile, Lucille and Tessie; eight grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Leon Barcomb Sr.; a brother, George Perry Jr.; and a son-in-law, Donald Shaw.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 28 at Holy Angels Church in Altona. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum in Ellenburg Depot.

The family wishes to thank Hospice of the North Country for the care given to Marcella and her daughter Laurie and Roger Garlock for their exceptional care giving.
