MOOERS — Mary A. Hogle, 95, of the North Star Road, Mooers, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at her home, under the loving care of her family and Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Mooers Forks, Feb. 11, 1917, the daughter of George E. and Susan Elsie (Laware) Kingsbury.
Mary was a loving wife of D. Linn Hogle and mother of five boys, David, Robert, Michael, Hugh and Patrick. She was an elementary school teacher in the area for many years. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Mooers Good Fellowship and a member of the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain.
Survivors include four sons and five daughters-in-law, David and Marilyn of Saranac Lake, Robert and Delores of Portland, Maine, Michael and Sharon of Berlin, Conn., Hugh and his companion Cindy Surprenant of Mooers, and Sue of Fla.; seven grandchildren, Doreen Hayes and Beth Hogle of Saranac Lake, Robert E. and Heather-Linn of Portland, Maine, Michael Hogle of Berlin, Conn., Eric and Neil Hogle of Mooers; eleven great-grandchildren, Kelley, Melody, and Mary Hayes of Saranac Lake, Kristi Parker Jonssen of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Colleen Hogle of Portland, Maine, Stephen Wyatt and Hunter Hogle-Dobson of Portland, Maine, Sage Hogle of Rouses Point, Ava Hogle of Dannemora; one great-great-grandchild of Saranac Lake; and several nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, D. Linn Hogle; son, Patrick Hogle; brother, Eugene; and sisters, Irene, Isabell and Bessie.
Calling hours will be held from 11 to Noon Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 793 Gilbert Road, Mooers. A funeral service will follow at Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stephen W. Loan, pastor of the Three Steeples United Methodist Church in Champlain, officiating. A gathering will follow, details will announced at the funeral service. Burial will be in the spring in the Mooers Riverside Cemetery.
