PLATTSBURGH — Nichole "Nickie" Rivers, 56, of Debra Lane, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Feb. 11, 1956.
Nickie started her very successful career in sales and management with Combined Life Insurance Company, working from the Plattsburgh to Ticonderoga areas, then for Rainbow Vacuum Sales in Plattsburgh where she met her future husband, Robert, when he started working there also.
They married at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh, August 24, 1985. They relocated to Troy, NY where she worked as an employment counselor for Snelling and Snelling Employment Agency, earning much recognition and many rewards for her work there.
She and her husband relocated back to Plattsburgh in 1987 working for Bresette Homes and Plattsburgh Mobile Home Brokers. They then together owned and operated Northeast Mobile Home Brokers in Keeseville, N.Y., for many years before she retired due to a disability.
Her smile and bubbly personality allowed her to become friends with all she knew. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Robert Rivers of Plattsburgh; Her mother-in-law, who she loved as her own, Beverly Rivers of Morrisonville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Millie Rivers of Morrisonville, Crystal and Jody Barber, Penny and Peter Bursick all of Chazy, Kim and Brian McGinley, Colleen and John Fairchild, Keith and Lisa Rivers, Kevin and Mary Rivers all of Plattsburgh; special aunts and uncles, Bill and Ina Baker of Plattsburgh, Leonard Macey and Gary and Carol Macey all of Morrisonville; her "special family" that she loved so much, Andrew and Annette "Chris" Sibincich along with her God daughters, that she was so very proud of, Andrea Caglione and her husband, Vincent and their son, Dominick and Andie Sibincich, all of Troy, N.Y., and Ashlyn Sibinich of Manhatten, N.Y.; and special friends, Kermit Ives and Reginal DeShane of West Chazy.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
