PLATTSBURGH — Mary Ellen Conroy, 80, formerly of Lynde St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. died peacefully Tuesday Jan 22, 2013 at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility. She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on Jan. 13, 1933 the daughter of John J. and Florence E. (Phair) Conroy.
Mary Ellen graduated from Children's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. and worked for many years as an OB nurse at CVPH Medical Center and for Dr. David McDowell and Dr. Robert Davis. Mary Ellen was a member of St. John's Church.
She was predeceased by her parents. Mary Ellen is survived by two sisters; Sr. Ann Conroy, CSC of Manchester, N.H. and Kathleen Beauvais of Plattsburgh, two nieces; Suzanne Barton and her husband Stan of Plattsburgh, Mary Catherine Curry of Bronx, N.Y., David Curry of Plattsburgh, five great nieces and nephews; Kara Miller and her husband Chris of Newburgh, N.Y., Paige, Lucas, Caleb and Abiageal Barton all of Plattsburgh, several cousins also survive her.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. A mass of Christian burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at St. John's Church. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
