Virginia T. Ladue

PLATTSBURGH — Virginia T. Ladue, 93, formerly of Lighthouse Road, Cumberland Head, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility.

She was born in Keeseville on August 4, 1919 the daughter of Horatio and Isabel (Brown) Thomas.

Virginia married Robert H. Ladue in 1940 in Montreal, PQ. Robert died in 1995.

She worked as a Nurses Aide at Physicians Hospital for several years, the USO for several more years and later as Secretary for the Housing Office at Plattsburgh State University College, for over thirty years.

Virginia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh, the Pony Club and the Willsboro Golf Club.

She enjoyed oil painting, boating, skiing, playing bridge, golf, tennis, doll making and horse back riding.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas Ladue and his wife Georgia of York Springs, Pa., William Ladue and his wife Tanny of Orlando, Fla. and G. Lansing "Lance" Ladue and his wife Cheri of Canandaigua, N.Y.; three daughters, Virginia King of Redondo Beach, Calif., Barbara Easterbrooks of Chipley, Fla. and Deborah Baker and her husband Kenneth of Plattsburgh; one daughter-in-law, Tracey Ladue of Penfield, N.Y.; one sister, Theodora Armstrong of Johnsonburg, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one son, Robert "Robin" Ladue; one brother, William Judson Thomas; and one granddaughter, Terry Carrozzino.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the R. W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh.

A funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Adirondack Humane Society.
