Ruth Ann Prue

PERU — Mrs. Ruth Ann Prue, 88, of Mannix Road in Peru, died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with family by her side.

She was born in Madrid, N.Y. on Aug. 31, 1924, the daughter of the late Henry David and Julia (Bashaw) Manor.

Ruth Ann was employed as a teacher's aide at Peru Central School for several years. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She married Francis Harold Prue on Oct. 10, 1942, at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh, where they also renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her children and their spouses; David and Denise Prue of Cumberland Head, Steven and Ecko Prue of Colorado Springs, Colo., James and Kathy Prue of Peru, Julie and Bill Everett of Peru; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Casey, Stefan and Amanda Prue, Brandon Everett and Traci, Karli Mack and Chris, Kathryn Garhartt and Chad, Jen Prue and Devon Deery, Bryan, Travis, Josh and Adam Prue, eight great-grandchildren; Kadi, Adelina , McKenzey and Liam Prue, James and Henry Mack, Nolan Everett and Tyler Garhartt; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband Francis Harold Prue passed away in 2002. A daughter, Phyllis Ann; and her brothers Harley, Ivan, Lawrence, and Lionel Manor; and three sisters, Ina Vasquez, Vella Manor and Christine Manor also passed away earlier.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at St. Peter's Church. Entombment will follow at Whispering Maples Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the Peru Volunteer Fire Department, the American Heart Association or Parkinsons Foundation.
