Lori L. Shay DePaul

PORT KENT — Lori L. Shay DePaul, 46, formerly of Port Kent, died unexpectedly, Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at her residence in Dublin, Ohio.

She was born in Tucson, Ariz., Sept. 3, 1966. Though born out of state, much of Lori's youth was spent in Port Kent. She graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1984, and later graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, W.V.

She was employed at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

She loved spending time with her friends and family. She was the life of every celebration and, she enjoyed the warmth and comfort of a sunny day outside with her beloved dog Mackenzie by her side.

Survivors include her parents, Donald and Fannie Shay of Spring Hill, Fla.; sister, Christine Shay and her companion Michael Rennie of Peru; brother and sister-in-law, Donald Shay Jr. and his wife Abbey Daggett Shay of Keeseville; her Uncle Daniel O. Shay of Vail, Ariz.; her special nieces and nephews, Zane and Alaina Bazzano of Peru, and Landon and Leah Shay of Keeseville; her beloved friend Don DePaul of Columbus, Ohio; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Don and Helen Shay formally of Keeseville.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the Port Kent Cemetery later in the year. Additional details will be announced at a later date.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville United Methodist Church at 1691A Front St. Keeseville NY 12944 (scholarship fund) or the Elmore SPCA, PO Box 686, Peru, NY 12972.

Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
