ELLENBURG DEPOT — Inez E. Cole, 90, formerly of the Clinton Mill Road, Ellenburg Depot, died Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh, with her loving daughter by her side. She was born in Ellenburg Depot, April 5, 1922, the daughter of Cornelius and Etta (Morrison) Covey.
She lived in Peru for seven years with her daughter Denise, and her family, then became a resident of Evergreen Valley Nursing Home for two years. They all became her extended family. Her family is so grateful to the loving care they bestowed upon her and her family.
Mom was a gifted quilter and she made the best homemade donuts in the North Country. She was a wonderful woman, and will be missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Dennis Cole and wife Pat of Ellenburg Depot, and Denise Irwin and husband Paul of Peru; six grandchildren, Tammy, Brian and Karen Cole, Kayla Clifford and husband David, and Josh and Jesse Irwin; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Manor, Jacob and Paige Spears; two sisters, Flora Bernaski of Amsterdam, and Inez's twin sister, Irene Covey of Delanson,; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Harold "Joe" Cole, January 24, 2003; and three brothers, Carmen, Russell, and Owen.
Calling hours will be at 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marion Moore-Colgan, pastor of the Plattsburgh United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in the Sheldon Hill Cemetery in Ellenburg Depot.
