MIDLOTHIAN, Va. — Michael Francis McKenna, 61, of Midlothian, Va, died Friday, March 15, at home in Hospice care.
He was born July 30, 1951, the son of Francis "Skip" McKenna and Ramona Cross.
Mike was employed by Lane Construction for many years and Foley Material Handling for 17 years. He fished the Bouquet River, Lake Champlain and the Outer Banks. He was a member of the Hollow's Men's Golf Association in Montpelier, Va. for many years.
Survivors include his wife Donna (Sayward) McKenna, to whom he was married for 39 years; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael J. and Susan McKenna of Sanford, N.C., Jeremy and Lisa McKenna of Midlothian, Va; Jacob and Jessica McKenna of Henrico, Va.; three grandchildren, Bradley, Katie and Reagan; his mother, Ramona Cross and stepfather, Gifford "Al" Cross of Winter Haven, Fla.; five brothers and one sister-in-law, William "Ben" and Anne McKenna of Highland Springs, Va, Steven McKenna of Essex, N.Y., Mark McKenna and Jeff McKenna of Willsboro, N.Y., Francis McKenna of Reedsville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Francis "Skip" McKenna, in March, 1979.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at Dale and Gwen Foley's, 9653 Land Castle Drive, Ashland, Va., with a memorial service at 1 p.m.
