NEW CASTLE, DE — Jacquelyn Meredith (Ashley) Kimbel, age 65, of New Castle, Del.,went home to be with the Lord after a two year courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. Jacquelyn enjoyed going on cruises with her husband, her weekly visit to Delaware Park, gardening, hummingbirds, cooking and baking, and spending time by the pool in the sun. She cherished her grandchildren and leaves a legacy of living life for her family.
Jacquelyn will be sadly missed by her husband of 48 years, Robert Kimbel; 4 sons, Scott Kimbel and fiance Patty Fishback, Robert Kimbel and wife Monica, Patrick Kimbel and wife Sharon, and Matthew Kimbel; daughter, Jennifer Jones and husband Matt; 4 brothers, loving brother, Edward Bucky Ashley, Patrick Ashley, Richard Ashley, and Andre Gilbert; 3 sisters, Stephanie Marche, Suzie Gilbert-Collins, and Debbie Gilbert; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Edward Ashley of AuSable Forks, N.Y.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17, at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchrnans Rd., Newark, DE, followed by a service in celebration of Jacquelyn's life at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
