NEVADA — Thelma Jean Anderson, 75, of Ely, Nev., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on the Trout Pond Road in Keeseville. She was under the care of her loving family, friends, and High Peaks Hospice. She was born in McGill, Nev., April 12, 1937, the daughter of Heber Ray and Donna Melvina (Jorgensen) Olson. Thelma grew up in McGill and graduated from McGill Grade School. She was a member of the LDS Church in Ely.
She enjoyed bird watching, caring for her chickens, and listening to classic country music, but her true love was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two children, Donald Anderson and his wife Sheila of Keeseville, and Barbara Anderson of Ely; five grandchildren, Cassandra Anderson, Amber Joiner, Darcy Joiner, Mandy Joiner, and Todd Joiner Jr.; 9 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Riley, Aiden, Orion, Brandyn, Sariayha, Kida, TJ, and Lakota; siblings, Lucille Fuller and her husband Ray of Elko, Nev., Caroline Buzzutti of Elko, Robert Buzzutti of Elko, and Edward Buzzutti of Reno, Nev.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Meldon Anderson, on April 15, 2012.
Services will be held in April of 2013 in Ely. Burial will be in the Ely City Cemetery in Ely.
