MORRISONVILLE — Alice R. LaValley, 84, of the Rand Hill Road, Morrisonville, and formerly of the Salmon River Road, Schuyler Falls, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.
She was born in Warrensburg, Jan. 15, 1928, the daughter of Otis I. and Evelyn S. (Clevland) Pratt.
"Gram" loved spending time with friends and family and enjoyed crafts, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking. She was the epitome of hospitality and her door was always open to anyone for some small talk and a cup of coffee.
She will be remembered for her strength, as well as her kind and caring nature.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, James Jeffrey and Geneva LaValley of Grayson, Ky., and Timothy Robert and Barbara LaValley of Leon, Kan.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, James H. "Jim" LaValley, Oct. 1, 2005; and a son, Jerry Lynn LaValley, Oct. 7, 2003.
Calling hours will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
