PLATTSBURGH — Doreen H. Fortin, 64, of Shelburne Street, Plattsburgh, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Delhi, N.Y., May 10, 1948, the daughter of Edward and Irene (Wayman) Kilmer.
She had a life long career in food service at various restaurants in the North Country, most notably at Lentzo's and Nadim's Restaurant.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, painting, puzzles, and watching NASCAR. She loved caring for her two cats, LB and My Buddy, and her dog, Daisy.
Survivors include her lifelong soulmate, Timothy Barcomb of Plattsburgh; children, John Fortin and wife Maria of Kernersville, N.C., Denise Fortin of Colchester, Vt., and Eric Fortin and wife Michelle of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Danielle Charlton, Amy Fortin, Aaron Fortin, Jonathan Fortin, Mason Fortin, and Christina Fortin; two great-grandchildren, Nikolus Milsap and Joel Loerwald; siblings, Edward Kilmer, Barbara Brown and Wanda Sperry; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; infant son, David Fortin; and siblings Ruth Boice and Betsy Garone.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, Nov. 23, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country, 358 Tom Miller Road, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
