PALERMO, N.Y. — Richard L. Facteau, 76, resident of Palermo, N.Y., passed away Nov. 19th, 2012, at Oswego hospital after a period of declining health.
Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on Feb. 9th, 1936, to the late Herbert and Virginia Facteau.
Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna; four children, Jeff, Sue, Mike and Sara; and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Kimberly and Michael. Richard is also survived by his two sisters, Donna and Sandy; and his brother and sister-in law, Richard and Gloria. He has several nieces and nephews.
Richard was a graduate of Plattsburg High School, and he served four years in the Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1959. He has held many jobs in his life, but his last was as owner and operator of Northern Lift Hydraulics in Palermo, N.Y.
Richard was a loving husband and father always engaged in his family's lives. He loved music and was very talented. He played the guitar, trumpet and coronet. He played in the Plattsburgh High School marching band, as well as being a member of a rock and country band. He also used these talents in the Air Force Drum and Bugle Corps.
Richard enjoyed recreational firearms and was a member of the Leather Stocking Gun Club, New Haven, N.Y. He was also a member for many years in the Retreads Motorcycle Club.
Funeral Services will be held at the Harter Funeral Home on Washington Ave. in Mexico, N.Y. Viewing will be from noon - 2 p.m., followed by burial and short service at the North Volney Cemetery.
