LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Henry J. Kress, 83, of Lake Placid, N.Y., formerly of Schenectady, N.Y. died on Thursday, June 21, 2012, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 15, 1928, in Schenectady, N.Y., where he lived most of his life. He was the son of the late Henry O. Kress Sr. and Margaret (nee: Greeley) Kress.
Henry was a machine operator for General Electric Co. in Schenectady for over 25 years until is retirement. After his retirement he moved year round in his home on Stoner Lake in the Adirondacks. Most recently, Henry has lived in Lake Placid.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his two brothers, Paul and David Kress; and a sister, Theresa Jaeger.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Alice J. (nee: Dupont) Kress; his two children, Gregory (Bethany) Kress of Wilmington, N.Y. and Monica (Robert) Borden of Glenville, N.Y.; his sister, Ann Duchowny of Schenectady, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Christopher Borden and Kathryn and Kaitlyn Kress; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, N.Y. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9 a.m. to be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady. Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Schenectady, N.Y.
