ALTONA — Floyd Clarence Guerin, 70 of Altona passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the CVPH Medical Center with his great niece and caregiver, Regina Vennette by his side.
He was born May 12, 1942, the son of Ovelia and Lydia (Bushey) Guerin. Floyd worked as a logger, we worked at India Glass in Altona for 35 years, he also owned and operated an excelsior mill in Altona. He enjoyed being outside, going for rides, watching his birds, watching the news, listening to a record player and telling old time stories about his life.
Floyd married Erma (Guay) Guerin who passed away Feb. 8, 1991. Floyd and Erma married Dec. 19, 1968, at Holy Angel's Church in Altona. Erma was a wonderful woman and the mother of two sons, Floyd Rusty Guerin and the late Lloyd Clarence Guerin who passed away July 10, 1982.
Floyd was predeceased by his brothers, Howard Guerin, Leeward Guerin, Robert Guerin, Rufus Guerin, Lawrence Guerin and his sisters, Marie Mayo, Shirley LaValley and Lucille Lashway.
Floyd is survived by his caregiver for six years, Regina Vennette and her son David; he is also survived by his son, Floyd Rusty Guerin; brothers, Earl Guerin and Wayne Guerin; his grandchildren, Floyd Buddy Guerin, Angel Jones, Alex Guerin and several nieces and nephews. Floyd was very loved, will be greatly missed and are in the hearts of his family members.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Ross Funeral Home in Mooers. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, Feb. 28th at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Mooers Forks.
