Bonnie L. Hathaway

LEWIS — Bonnie L. (Mitchell) Hathaway of Lewis N.Y., died peacefully at her home with her loving companion Randy and their dogs by her side on Dec. 14, 2012. She was born in Elizabethtown, N.Y., to the late Rolland and Hazel Mitchell.

Bonnie has several accomplishments in her life time. She worked as a caregiver for many years. She had a special way with her "clients". Bonnie helped with the care of Rev. Lucy Hathaway who thought of her like a "daughter". Bonnie was very proud of the fact she got her high school diploma in June of 2005. You could always hear her laughter and smiles when her granddaughters Ashlynn and Justicewere around her. Bonnie also enjoyed playing cards at her home, her dogs Sassy and Bandit, family and friends. She has a special bond with Sherry and felt like she was her sister. She also enjoyed her best friend, Nancy. Nancy never missed an appointment or treatment with Bonnie. She also enjoyed spending time on her porch with the love of her life, Randy. Wherever Bonnie was, her dogs Sassy and Bandit were by her side. Bonnie was very grateful for all the love and care Randy gave her throughout her courageous battle with cancer all the way until the end.

She is predeceased by her son, Raymond L. Hathaway, whom she loved dearly; her parents; sister Evelyn and brother-in-law, Gerald Curtin, sister Joanie Althizer; sister-in-law, Peggy Garrant and brother-in-law, Larry Ebersole; a nephew, Randy Moore; and a niece, Kristi Mitchell.

Bonnie's survivors included the love of her life, Randy Robare; daughters Jessica, Amanda, and Evelynn Robare. She was "Meme" to her special granddaughters, Ashlynn and Justice. Other survivors include her brother, sisters, and in- laws Louie Garrant, Linda and Billie Moore, David and Nance Garrant, Nancy Ebersole of Plattsburgh, Rolland and Sherry Mitchell of Willsboro, Gerald and Christine Mitchell of Lewis, Larry and Lisa Mitchell of Peru, Michael Mitchell & Margaret Trombley, Daniel Mitchell and Nancy Phinney of Lewis, Sterling and Brenda Hathaway of Schenectady, Gene and Harriett Robare of Willsboro, William and Andrea Robare of Reber, N.Y., and Sandra Hamms of Willsboro; many loved nieces and nephews. Roger, Mitch, and Joseph were very special to her heart.

There will be no calling hours per Bonnie's wishes. A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Lewis Cogregational Church in Lewis.
