PLATTSBURGH — Mr. Gerald "Jerry" Buttress, 84, of Beekman St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012, at his home. He was born on Jan. 14, 1928.
Jerry entered the U.S. Army on July 19, 1945, and retired as a Sergeant Major on Dec. 31, 1965. He moved to Plattsburgh in 1967.
Jerry received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Plattsburgh State University College in 1977. He retired as the Assistant Comptroller from Ayerest Pharmaceutical in Rouses Point. Jerry enjoyed gardening and reading.
He was predeceased by his wife Marie V. Buttress. Jerry is survived by his daughters; Cynthia-Lasher Graham and her husband Thomas of Apopka, Fla., and their son, Kevin; Karen Federice and her husband Richard of Clifton Park and their children Amy, Kari and John.
At Jerry's request there will be no calling hours. Interment with full military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, at St. Peter's Cemetery.
