Henry M. Clodgo Jr. "Spike''

BRISTOL, CONN — Henry Spike Clodgo Jr., 59, passed away suddenly at his residence in Bristol, Conn, on Sept. 16, 2012.

Spike was born Nov. 13, 1952, at the Orlando Army Base hospital in Orlando, Fla. After graduation from Ausable Valley High School in 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the Army he lived and worked in the Keeseville area for a few years. He then moved to Bristol, Conn. where he worked and lived until his death.

He was predeceased by his father, Henry M. Clodgo Sr. and his mother, Kathleen A. Clodgo. He leaves behind four brothers, Leon and his wife Rosemary, Richard and his wife Sandra all of Keeseville., Robert and his wife Anne of Garner, N.C. and Martin Clodgo of Bristol, Conn.

Spike worked in Bristol at the Dickau Bus Co. for a few years and then O-Z / Gedney until it closed. He then returned to the bus company where he worked for a few more years.

He was an avid sports fan loving the New York Giants and the New York Yankees. He was an avid Nascar fan always loyal to Rusty Wallace. He enjoyed all forms of motor sports and enjoyed an occasional round of golf with his brothers and friends. In his younger years he loved to play softball.

Spike was a free spirit his entire life and remained so to the end. He went through his life on his own terms and answered to the beat of his own drums. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He also picked up the nickname of Hank along the way.

There were no calling hours and burial was private and at the convenience of the family in the Port Douglas Cemetery.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who thought of Spike at this time, called with their condolences, offers to help in any way, sent sympathy cards, lit a candle in his memory, or included him in their prayers. The food was enjoyed by all the family after he was buried next to his parents. Everything was greatly appreciated and a comfort to the family.
