Daniel P. Blaise

KEESEVILLE — Daniel P. Blaise, 60, of AuSable Street, Keeseville, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at his home.

He was born in Plattsburgh, March 14, 1952, the son of Wilfred Blaise and the former Pauline LaVallee. He grew up in Keeseville and was a 1971 graduate of AuSable Valley Central School.

He worked many years at Imperial Wallcoverings in Plattsburgh, until their closing. He was most recently employed at Salerno Plastics in Plattsburgh. A position he's held for more than 10 years.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing the slot machines, and spending time with family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Deborah L. (LaBounty) Blaise, whom he married June 17, 1972 in St. John's Church in Keeseville; one daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and Jamie (Bouissey) Blaise of Plattsburgh; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Blaise and Colleen Covino of Georgia; brother, Larry Blaise of Peru; two grandchildren, Ayla and Keegan Blaise; step siblings and their spouses, Peggy and Gervin Johnston, Stephen and Vickie Douglas, Larry and Judy Douglas, Gary Bleau, Wayne Bleau, and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father and step-mother, Wilfred and Elva Blaise; mother and step-father, Pauline and Gerald Douglas; and his parents-in-law, Ted and Jane LaBounty.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church in Keeseville with Monsignor Leeward J. Poissant, parish pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the charity of ones choice.
