Kevin Kampschror

PLATTSBURGH — Kevin Kampschror, 56, of Louisiana Avenue, died on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the CVPH Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Evanston, Ill. on June 5, 1956, the son of Leslie and Nancy (Arrants) Kampschror.

Kevin married the former Sonya M. Hanrahan on April 2, 2011, in the CVPH Medical Center Chapel.

He studied theatre at Virginia Commonwealth University and then completed a professional apprenticeship for acting at the Hayloft Dinner Theatre in Manassas, Va. in 1976. Kevin was a proud cardholder of the Actor Equity Association and played a major role in bringing the community theater back to Plattsburgh with the Plattsburgh Community Players. He loved acting, music, writing, fishing, and was an amateur magician. Kevin was a hard worker and was very passionate about everything he did.

Kevin was most recently General Manager of Perkins Restaurant in Plattsburgh until his illness.

Survivors include his wife Sonya of Plattsburgh; four children, Shannon Bond and her husband Antonio of Plattsburgh, Whitney Derocher and her husband Chris of Plattsburgh, William Kampschror of Plattsburgh, and Rachel Kampschror of Plattsburgh; one grandson, Everett Derocher; two foster children, Juan Lugo and his wife Kimberly and Samantha Breyette and her family; his first wife, Deborah Kampschror of Plattsburgh; his mother, Nancy Kampschror of Falls Church, Va; two brothers, Richard Kampschror of Venice, Italy, and John Kampschror and his wife Susan of Falls Church, Va; four sisters, Suzanne Kampschror and her husband Scott of Mechanicsville, Va., Tracy Keill and her husband Robert of Bermuda, Lisa Olsen and her husband Dr. Eric Olson of Falls Church, Va, and Dana Kampschror of Falls Church, Va; nine nieces and five nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Leslie.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at the R.W. Walker Funeral Home, 69 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. Burialwill take place at a later date in St. Peter's Columbarium.     HERKIMER — Russell A. LaFontaine, 91, of Herkimer and formerly of Champlain, N.Y., passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 15, 2013, in the Folts Home, Inc., Herkimer, with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Champlain, the son of the late Emmett and Elsie (Allard) LaFontaine and was educated in Champlain schools. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II. He married the former Leona Dupee. Mrs. LaFontaine passed away in 1989.
