Edward F. Kelly

PORT HENRY — Edward F. Kelly, husband of Patricia E. Kelly, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Nov. 17th, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 74.

He was born in 1938 in Port Henry, N.Y., the oldest of five, to the late Edward J. and Mary V. Kelly.

Ed met the love of his life, Pat, when they were just teenagers. They were happily married for over 51 years.

Ed entered the Air Force in 1956. After 4 years in the Air Force he attended and graduated Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a degree in accounting.

Ed and Pat settled in Ossining, N.Y., where he worked for GM from 1963 to 1965; then went on to work at Kraft from 1965 to 1987. Ed owned and operated Kelly King Realty in New Fairfield, where he and his wife worked together for the past 25 years.

In addition to his wife Pat, Ed is survived by his three loving daughters, Debra Kelly-Troll and her husband Jeff, Susan Hooper and her husband Douglas and Robyn Biasetti along with her husband, Nick. He is also survived by his many loving grandchildren, Jason and Ian Troll, Tyler, Alyssa and Alex Hooper, as well as the newest additions, twins Kelly and Kaitlyn and baby Kara Biasetti, all of whom reside in New Fairfield; he is also survived by his brothers, Francis and his wife Jean and Robert and his wife Shirley of Mineville, N.Y.; his brother-in-law, Michael Lickver and his wife Marie of Danbury, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his sister, Carol Nephew and his brother, Jack Kelly.

Among all the things he was known for, he generously supported his grandchildren's sporting programs. Ed loved vacationing in Marco Island, FL with his family. He also loved outings to Mohegan Sun and fishing.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, Nov. 21st, at St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield.

A wake will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury between the hours of 4 and 8 P.M. on Tuesday, Nov. 20th.

In lieu of flowers, the Kelly family requests that you make a donation in Ed's name to the Danbury Hospital Praxair Center for Cancer, or the Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT.
