Irene Duquette

CHAMPLAIN — Irene Duquette, 95, of Champlain passed away at CVPH in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on March 11, 2013. She was born the daughter of Joseph and Laura (Baker) LaVenture on April 9, 1917.

On May 29, 1933 she married her husband, Albert Duquette, who passed away on August 30, 1986. In their early years, Irene and Albert Duquette were farmers. Irene is survived by her only child, Norma Jane Babbie; four grandchildren, Wendy (Todd) Howard, Darren (Julie) Babbie, Lindsay (Jen) Babbie and Cris (Vicki) Babbie; eight great-grandchildren (and friends), Ashley Jarvis (Cody Lobdell), Allyzza Burdick, Troy Burdick, Jordon Babbie (Kelly Pavilaitis), Jeff Babbie, Owen Babbie, Alise Babbie and Sierra Babbie; two step great-grandchildren, Michael Howard and Cody (Kaitlyn) Howard; great-great-grandchild Jack Sorrell; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Irene Duquette was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses whom she loved very much; Francis (Pauline) LaVenture, Andrus (Madeline) LaVenture and Bertha (Floyd) LaPine.

A private mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Champlain, N.Y. Interment will take place at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Coopersville, N.Y.
