AUSABLE FORKS — Richard "Joey" Aubin, 28, of AuSable Forks was tragically taken from this world on March 5. Joey was born Oct. 5, 1984, to Paul and Cheryl (Akey) Aubin.
Joey was a force of nature on Mt. Van Hovanberg, driving bobsled for many years and maintaining tracks. Joey was an exceptional athlete, had an infectious smile and was loved by everyone that knew him.
Joey is survived by his parents, a brother Andrew (Kellie-Ann) Aubin; and sisters, Angi (Bill) Ouimette, Jessi (Bill) Thwaits; his grandmother, Doris Akey; his uncles, Harold, Rocky, Richard and Bob; his Aunts, Helen, Valerie, Gail and Janet; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews; his fab five sisters; as well as his best friends, Joey, Barty, Kyle, "Fat Head", Jason, Harley and Ashley; as well as his girlfriend, Amanda and her son, his best little buddy, Declan. He was predeceased by his brother,Stevie Aubin; his grandfathers Exie Akey and John Wirt; his Aunt Cec; and his Uncle David.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 10. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 11, at Thwaits-Zaumetzer in AuSable Forks with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 504. The Family would love for you to join them. Donations in his memory may be made to the Elmore SPCA.
