BEEKMANTOWN — Rodney A. Lemieux, 62, of the Jersey Swamp Road, Beekmantown, went home to be with the Lord and his parents, Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, from the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. His loving family was by his side and he was under the care of Hospice of the North Country.
He was born in Plattsburgh, May 16, 1950, the son of the late Albert and Margaret (Rougeau) Lemieux. Rodney graduated from Plattsburgh High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.
Rodney worked at Pratt-Whitney in N.H., JD Hulbert in Plattsburgh and lastly, Clinton Community College.
Rodney enjoyed spending time with family and friends camping, fishing, attending concerts, rooting for his New York Giants, listening to rock & roll and blues music and bon fires. All the simple pleasures life had to offer.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Carol (Hulbert) Lemieux whom he married Oct. 30, 1976, at OLVA in Plattsburgh; sons, Rodney Eric Lemieux and wife Annie-Laurie (Burdo) of South Plattsburgh, and Kyle Lemieux and companion Terry Gardner of Plattsburgh; three sisters, Virginia Ginger Christie of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, Nancy Shore and husband Terry of Arab, Ala., and Christine Lemieux of Plattsburgh; aunt, Florence (Lemieux) Hay; mother-in-law, Marjey E. Hulbert of Cadyville; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug.23, at St. Jame's Church in Cadyville with Rev. Lawrence M. Deno, celebrating. Committal prayers, military honors, and burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
