Rena St. Louis

PLATTSBURGH — Rena M. St. Louis, 85, of Plattsburgh, died on Thursday, Aug. 2, at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Plattsburgh on March 15, 1927, the daughter of Guerino and Antoinette (Pavone) Meschinelli.

Rena graduated from St. John's Academy and the Loretta School of Business.

She was employed by the City of Plattsburgh as a Senior Stenographer in the Building Inspector's office for 36 years, retiring in 1983. Rena also worked part time in the business office at CVPH Medical Center for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Rena also liked to travel with her friends and was especially proud of her Italian heritage.

Rena was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Anna Simon and Rita Lennon.

Rena is survived by her brother, Alfred "Zip" Meschinelli, of Plattsburgh. Rena is also survived by a son, Barry St. Louis of Plattsburgh; and a daughter, Lori Raffield of Ledyard, Conn.; Barry's companion, Sue Ralston of Plattsburgh; his children, Erin St. Louis and her fiance, John Carron of West Chazy; Erik St. Louis of Plattsburgh; Lori's husband, Colin Kelly Raffield; and their children, Jessica Raffield and her fiance, Ray VanCise of Coram, N.Y.; Paula Gonzales and her fiance, Jerry Watkins Jr. of Ledyard, Conn.; Keri Raffield-McInnis and her spouse, Jennifer McInnis of North Attleboro, Mass.; Casey Raffield of Ledyard, Conn.; great-grandchildren, Cierra Gonzales, Ethan Raffield and Juliana VanCise. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Donations in memory of Rena may be made to St. John's Church or to the A.D.A.C. (Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Coalition) c/o Pine Harbour, 15 New Hampshire Rd., Plattsburgh.

Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m on Sunday, Aug. 5, at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m on Monday, Aug. 6, at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh.

    HERKIMER — Russell A. LaFontaine, 91, of Herkimer and formerly of Champlain, N.Y., passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 15, 2013, in the Folts Home, Inc., Herkimer, with his family by his side. He was born Dec. 22, 1921, in Champlain, the son of the late Emmett and Elsie (Allard) LaFontaine and was educated in Champlain schools. Russell served in the United States Army during World War II. He married the former Leona Dupee. Mrs. LaFontaine passed away in 1989.
